What are your three favorite things about your book?
The book I read was confusing at parts, but there were a lot of great parts. (: One of my favorite parts is when the uncle is visiting, and he is trying to be humorous with the family by making up all these jokes, but really..all of them are harsh! The family gets mad, but they try their best not to show it, and they keep finding different activities for him to do so he will stay busy!(: Another one is when Elizabeth was ask to be married and she refused!..She couldn't stand Mr. Collins. And after she refused his hand in marriage, he went right to Lady Catherine, and she accepted his hand in marriage!(: And my last favorite part was at the beginning of the story when all of the ladys are at the dance..and Mr. Darcy is dancing with all of them. Elizabeth was getting irritated and one day, he suddenly just pushed the limit a little bit to far, and she left him!

"Good literature substitutes for experiences which we have not ourselves lived through." -Alexander Solzhenitsyn
This quote means that by reading a book you will be able to imagine and act as if you are living inside the book with the character. You may feel as if you are going through all the struggles they go through as well, right along with them. There may be times when you feel very bad for what is going on in the story and wish you could help, or other times you wish for the same thing to happen to you at sometime throughout your lifetime.

This quote relates to the book that I am reading, Pride and Prejudice, because there are many events that have happened in the story which I have never had the chance to experience myself. There are somethings in the book that I would love to happen to me, but then again there are others that my life wouldn't be ruined if they never occured. (:
**thanks for reading(:

This book is very romantic with many songs that will go along with it perfectly! (:
The first song is "There She Goes" by The La's. This song relates perfectly to Mr. Collins and how he feels about Elizabeth. When he proposed to her, she turned him down and said no, but for a while after that before he asked Charlotte for her hand in marriage, he was still crazy about Elizabeth.
The second song is "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift. This song is perfect for Elizabeth. Even though she very stubborn and turned down Mr. Collins proposal, she still may have feelings for him. She probably isnt sure if she is ready to settle on one guy when there are many more guys in town who she may also have a chance with.
The third song is "Do You Believe in Magic" by Aly and Aj. This song is appropriate and would fit in at any point in the story. It tells that magic is possible in every young girls heart no matter what condition it may be in.
The fourth song is "Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum. This describes all the little crushes that fly back and forth between all the character throughout the story. They all at some point in time are in love with another that they know they probably don't have a chance with, and they wish that the other person would need them too.

“Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.” - C. S. Lewis
To me, this quote says that our lives can be as dry and as boring as a desert. It could stay that way as long as you want it to, but if you give yourself the chance to add literature to it, your life will be replenished. It will bring you into reality and make your life more exciting! (:
This quote relates to the story I am reading, because it brings good humor and a romantic feeling to those that are reading it! (: It makes you laugh and smile at all the silly things they do throughout the whole story! (:

:))
I think that this book will be quite challenging for me, because I am not used to reading older books that I can't even understand half of the vocab. (: This book may also challenge me because of how long it is, and I might get the characters mixed up at some points..but I hope that shouldn't be a problem! I will deal with these challenges by reading slowly and asking Miss.K. any questions that i come across, so i will understand what is going on in the book and enjoy it!! ((:

The book that I have chosen for my independent reading is Pride & Prejudice, by Jane Austen. I chose this book because I enjoy reading romantic stories that have a funny twist to them as well. :) Many of people have recommended this book to me, and so far I think that I am really going to enojoy it.
